Once one has been obedient in baptism one
must live a faithful life until death. Jesus tells the Christians at
Smyrna to, "Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer:
behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be
tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto
death, and I will give thee a crown of life." (Revelation
2:10) Even the apostle Paul knew that he could fall from the grace
of God should he fail to keep the desire of his flesh under control.
He tells the Corinthians, "But I keep under my body, and bring it
into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I
myself should be a castaway." (1 Corinthians 9:27) I've
published an extensive study on grace and the possibility of a Christian's
falling away. I've provided a link for your convenience. I
pray you will determine to be obedient to His commandments and remain
faithful to Him until death.
